"Hardanger Embroidery" by Suzanne Toftey
Grandma is teaching her granddaughter "Hardanger rsøm" or Hardanger embroidery, which is traditionally worked with white thread on white even-weave cloth, using counted thread and drawn thread work techniques.
Flourishing in Norway between 1650-1850, it used to decorate the bunads shown here.
It measures 6 inches square. Use it as a trivet or hang on your wall- comes with a cork backing and a hanger for wall mounting.
